An interview with Senior Category Class B Championship leader, Daniel Storkersen.
Race Team: AutoInc Racing Age: 16 years old Karting Experience: 2 years
There are many important qualities that can contribute to a person’s achievements, but there is only one that delivers long-term success: self-discipline. It is great to see a committed driver like Daniel and we wish him all the best in his driving career.
Q: You are the leader on the board, how are you going to defend your position? A: I will train hard before the next race – stamina and concentration. I will study the track conditions before each race weekend too.
Q: In terms of race craft, who is your biggest competitor in your category? A: I believe I am my biggest competitor. My goal is to improve and do better than the previous race.
Q: What’s your winning formula? A: Staying motivated, focused and well prepared before each race. Having a good team around me is also one factor for success.
Q: Has leading the championship changed your perspective in the race? Why? A: Yes, it has! Since I am now leading the championship, I have to work harder and be well-prepared before each race so that I can keep myself on top of the board.
Q: Do you prefer to totally dominate or have a bit of fun? Why? A: My main goal is to learn and have fun at the same time. That means it is not important if I am totally dominating.
Q: Which driver (karting, Formula cars & etc) is your biggest influence on the track? How so? A: Will and Earl Bamber. Earl Bamber won the Le Mans 24 hours race this year. Will and Earl have made a huge influence on me, especially on improving my driving skills (karting and Formula BMW).
Q: What do you have to say to your potential sponsors? A: I hope that future sponsors would consider me because I am highly motivated. I am a hardworking driver who wants to progress motorsport to a higher level. Other than karting, I am also racing in Formula BMW (AsiaCup). I am constantly improving and improving my standings in the championship lists of many different races.
